Final Season of Superman & Lois Reveals Tyler Hoechlin’s Character’s Unexpected Fate

Superman and Lois: The Big Twist
The CW has issued a trailer for Superman & Lois’s ultimate season. In a stunning sneak peek, the trailer suggests Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel may indeed be no more.
Season 3 of Superman & Lois culminated in an intense battle between our favorite Kryptonian and the menacing Doomsday on the moon. However, as the trailer for Season 4 rolls, a nasty surprise awaits Lois and her sons. They discover Clark’s lifeless body in Smallville.
War Suit and A Grieving Lex
In a desperate bid, the grief-stricken family transports Clark to the Fortress, hoping against all odds for a miracle to bring him back. Notably, it also seems Lex isn’t finding things amusing either. Quite the contrary, he appears to equip a version of the infamous Warsuit we know from the comic books.
Tyler Hoechlin offered some intriguing hints into what the audience could expect in this climax season in a recent conversation with EW.com. There’s a rumor afloat suggesting Superman will lose his powers in this series, apparently to cut VFX costs.
“Less Active” Hoechlin
Hoechlin, with his easy banter, revealed being perhaps “less active” on certain shoots. “I may have dozed off during a rehearsal or a blocking at one point. I was, obviously, still a part of the show. There were several months of shooting this year, but I won’t drop any spoilers regarding my role.” Hoechlin coyly added.
Yet, he promises there will be more to see. “Flashbacks feature, among other elements,” Hoechlin hinted, giving fans something to puzzle over. He also voiced his excitement over a flashback scene with Dylan Walsh, playing General Sam Lane. “That was an absolute thrill,” he exclaimed.
A Twist In The DCU?
Could James Gunn have plans to draft Hoechlin into his Batman in the DC Universe? Time will tell. For now, catch the final season of Superman & Lois premiering Monday, Oct. 7 at 8 pm EST with a two-hour-long special. The official teaser provocatively hints at a world awaiting Superman’s return.
