Momoa’s Controversial Actions Uncovered
Written by August Tales
Jason Momoa’s global recognition surged with his portrayal of Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. Notably, he had already starred in TV favorites like Baywatch Hawaii and Stargate Atlantis. With his unique portrayal, he made a lasting impact, after a limited presence—unleashing a flurry of opportunities.
From Aquaman to Lobo
Moreover, Momoa is celebrated for playing Aquaman in the DCEU. Yet, talks of him taking on the role of Lobo in the recast DCU are circulating. Undoubtedly, a return such as this stirs excitement among comic fans.
Lights, Camera, Action in Minecraft Movie
As anticipation builds for the possible Lobo role, Momoa stays busy on another project. This is none other than a Minecraft Movie. Sharing screen space with him will be Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen, among others. There’s also Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, and Matt Berry in undisclosed roles.
Entering Troubled Waters
On set, however, not all is smooth sailing. YouTuber Valkyrae, part of the Minecraft cast, alleges she saw Momoa disrespecting the crew. According to her, he yelled at them post-intense scene, troublingly staying in character. Such an environment, she claims, is rather toxic and one she doesn’t want to work in.
A Streak of Controversies
Strange enough, this isn’t the first time accusations about Momoa’s on-set behavior have found light. Amber Heard alleged that during the filming of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Momoa tried getting her removed from the film. In addition to this, Momoa supposedly showed up to set intoxicated on multiple occasions.
On a different note, at San Diego Comic-Con, Momoa caused a stir with a poor joke about Khal Drogo. The actor suggested that his Game of Thrones character’s ability to “rape beautiful women” was an advantage of the fantasy genre. Momoa faced substantial backlash and had to apologize for his offhand comment.
Your Thoughts?
Despite his apology, the criticism continues to linger. So, got any thoughts on all this? Feel free to share below in the comments.
