Kickstarter Launched for Kolchak Meets Monsters

Kolchak’s Iconic Monsters Trading Card Reveal

By August Tales

Kolchak, everyone’s favorite supernatural sleuth, is back to tackle legendary foes. This time, he’s up against Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Werewolf. Thanks to the Kolchak Meets Monsters Kickstarter, fans can now snag exclusive trading card rewards featuring vibrant artwork.

A Star-Studded Team of Artists

Russ Braun, Colton Worley, and Gabriel Hardman have lent their artistry to this project. They’ve created unique Kolchak-themed cards that are already turning heads. The Kickstarter campaign exploded past its initial goal, echoing the success of recent Kolchak projects.

Furthermore, actor and writer David Dastmalchian collaborates with artist Lukas Ketner for the “Kolchak Meets the Werewolf and Count Crowley” comic crossover. Dastmalchian says, “Kolchak was a big inspiration for my Count Crowley character.” His passion for nontraditional heroes shines through in this collaboration.

More Tales from the Dark Side

This Kickstarter also features Rodney Barnes penning “Kolchak Meets Dracula,” with Alex Lins on the artwork. Barnes describes entering Kolchak’s terrifying world as an honor. In another tale, Steve Niles teams up with George Quadros for “Kolchak Meets Frankenstein.”

Monstrous Books will compile these tales into a deluxe hardcover edition. This collector’s item will exhibit an original cover by Dave Acosta, adding an extra layer of allure.

Inspiration by the Original Mastermind

With a storied past, Kolchak continues captivating new generations. The original Kolchak TV movie mesmerized audiences in 1972, and it went on to inspire the cult-followed TV series. Recent Kickstarter achievements further cement its legacy, including a deluxe novel reprint raising over $100,000 from passionate fans.

Christopher Golden, a New York Times bestselling author, emphasized how essential Kolchak is to horror literature. Dana Gould, creator of Stan Against Evil, described Kolchak as his spirit animal. These accolades show how Kolchak remains an influential force in horror.

Kickstarter Campaign Now Live

The current Kickstarter campaign for Kolchak Meets the Classic Monsters is live. Fans can anticipate not only comics and graphic novels but also the first-ever licensed Kolchak trading cards. Keep up with Monstrous Books’ ongoing updates on Facebook, Instagram, and X.

Kolchak’s escapades continue to captivate, proving his legacy in horror is here to stay. When monsters loom in shadows, Kolchak is ready to face them head-on, hat intact.
