LIFEDREAM Celebrates Character’s 50th Anniversary

Marvel Comics announced “Storm: Lifedream,” a riveting new series to commemorate Black History Month. This special edition also marks the 50th anniversary of Storm’s debut in 1975’s Giant-Size X-Men #1.

A New Era for a Classic Hero

In this exciting adventure, intergalactic historians dig into Storm’s legendary tale. However, they might unleash an untamed side of the weather-manipulating powerhouse. The mission takes readers on a journey through Storm’s most iconic moments, as dark forces threaten her remarkable legacy.

Contributors for this project include notable figures. Angélique Roché, Curtis Baxter, Brittney Morris, and John Jennings headline the writing team. Meanwhile, artistic talents like Karen S. Darboe and Edwin Galmon add their unique flair, with more artists yet to be confirmed.

The All-Black Creative Line-Up

Aligned with other Marvel Voices specials, “Storm: Lifedream” features an entirely Black creative team. Roché, creator of the Marvel’s Voices podcast, collaborates again with Jennings, known for “My Super Hero is Black.” Jennings also contributed to “Silver Surfer: Ghost Light” and “Marvel Super Stories.”

Curtis Baxter, making waves in animation and video games, debuted at Marvel with this year’s “Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual.” Brittney Morris, who penned “Spider-Man: Miles Morales — Wings of Fury,” joins the team. Artist Karen S. Darboe and cover specialist Edwin Galmon are also on board, showcasing diverse talents under Marvel’s umbrella.

Excitement Builds for Storm’s New Adventure

Scheduled for release on January 29, 2025, “Storm: Lifedream” promises to captivate audiences. Taurin Clarke provides the main cover, while Lucas Werneck, known for Storm’s solo series, crafts an impressive variant.

Fans eagerly consume the current series by Murewa Ayodele, with two issues available now. The third installment drops on December 11. This continuity ensures readers remain enchanted with Storm’s evolving narrative.

Marvel’s latest endeavor not only celebrates a beloved character but also elevates her story with a vibrant wave of creativity. “Storm: Lifedream” isn’t just a comic; it’s a groundbreaking celebration of power, culture, and legacy.
