MCU Rumors: Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch & More

Exciting MCU Rumors: More Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch Movie, Nova Series, and Aubrey Plaza

By August Tales

After the Deadpool & Wolverine phenomena, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) gains more traction. This time, the surfacing rumors around Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, Elizabeth Olsen who portrays Scarlet Witch, a possible Nova series, and Aubrey Plaza lighting up the MCU are indeed getting tongues wagging.

Unraveling the Rumors

Tom Holland: More Spider-Man for MCU

Scooper Daniel RPK stirs the pot with claims of a huge Sony Marvel deal warming up around Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The already in-development Spider-Man 4 will feature more of Holland, according to RPK’s claim. Kevin Feige, it is reported, will oversee new solo films, hinting at the possibility of a new Spider-Man trilogy. Coupled with the rumor of Spider-Man 4 being an “Avengers-level” movie, fans eagerly anticipate a crossover of Tom Hardy’s Venom with Holland’s Web Slinger. Holland, it is expected, will be featured in the future Avengers adventures – Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Scarlet Witch: Rising from the Rubble

In the last sighting, Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) was seemingly crushed under a heap of debris in Doctor Strange 2. But Scarlet Witch may rise from the rubble, as per Olsen. Rumors point towards a Scarlet Witch movie currently in the works. WandaVision and Agatha’s Jac Schaeffer and The Marvels’ Megan McDonnel are reportedly penning the script. Olsen would like the best minds in the business to unveil her comeback, hence we anticipate an engaging plot. Though not slated for immediate filming, the Scarlet Witch movie is indeed in development.

Nova: A New Addition?

Nova, the Marvel Comics fan-favorite character, is confirmed to be in production. Interestingly, it will spotlight Richard Rider in a Disney+ series with a focus on the Nova Corps in space. Predictably, the series will feature several members of Nova Corps. However, nervous anticipation surrounds the series, given that Marvel Comics canned the popular Nova and GOTG Marvel Cosmic comics. The hope is that the MCU will highlight themes derived from Keith Giffen’s Annihilation and Dan Abnett 2007 Nova series.

Aubrey Plaza: The MCU Stalwart?

Following the debut of the Agatha series last night, Aubrey Plaza further enriches the MCU. Plaza is expected to star in more Marvel projects after Agatha All Along. Despite Agatha’s lukewarm reception, experts foresee Plaza’s character surviving the series in the MCU. It remains to be seen whether the pair, Schaeffer and McDonnel, will pen the Scarlet Witch Movie.
