Meet Mini Moose in the World of Betty and Veronica

Moose’s Unfurrytable Pet Adventure in New Comic

Take the quintessential characters of Archie Comics, throw in a little canine-centric chaos, a bully, and a bruising protagonist named Moose seeking furry companionship and behold – you’ve got a comic issue fizzing with fun. Welcome to the latest edition of Word of Betty & Veronica Digest – a delightful romp that doesn’t just pluck the heartstrings but pulls them into a jive. Let’s step into the shoes of Moose, a gentle giant who’s realized, much to his chagrin and our amusement, that he’s the only one in the Archieverse without a pet. Well, even the local bully, Pow and his bulldozer of a mutt, Tiny, are causing mayhem around town, making Moose’s pet-less existence all the more glaring! Fear not, our leading lady Midge isn’t going to let Moose wallow in petless misery.

Enter “Canine Chaos,” a special addition featuring pet adoption, written by none other than Archie’s social media ace Chris Cummins. And no, we aren’t throwing around the word ‘special’ as generously as your grandma does on your average, run-of-the-mill homemade cookies. It’s the first issue for Cummins, and this isn’t just an unpaid gig. Chris’s pug, Dumpling, whom he adopted himself, is making his debut too, with a heartwarming cameo.

Exploring the Adoption Adventure

So, how did “Canine Chaos” find its way into the Archie Comics universe? Here’s the scoop straight from the horse’s…err…the writer’s mouth.

Chris’s adoration for animals, especially the rescue variety, was the spark that ignited the idea for his first Archie story. No one better than Moose, who lacked a pet, to journey on this adoption rollercoaster. Now, we must caution you – brace yourselves for a man-dog combo that can only be described in one way – Moose-tastic!

Throw in a few feline miscreants Max and Xam, the sage grayhound Jacuzzi, and Chris’s own adorable rescue pug, Dumpling. Oh yes, Dumpling and Chris do make an appearance. And that’s not all – this dynamic duo’s presence on the Archie panel, beautifuly rendered by the talented Rex Lindsey, was the brainchild of Archie Editor-in-Chief Mike Pellerito.

A Poolside Affair and a Comics-Filled Weekend

Moose and Mini-Moose’s shenanigans are just getting started.  Seize your weekend and take a dive into this hilarious, canine-centric issue. Grab your copy, sip your favorite beverage, and relax with a good old-fashioned comic spree. Happy weekend, folks!
