Negasonic Teenage Warhead Gets Her Own Comic Book One-Shot
Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a character first introduced in New X-Men #115, has officially earned her own comic book one-shot. Originally created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, she met a tragic fate in her first appearance, falling victim to Cassandra Nova during the Genoshan genocide. Named after the song by Monster Magnet, she was later brought to life on the big screen in the Deadpool films, portrayed by Brianna Hildebrand. Her return in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine cemented her place in pop culture.
From Screen to Page: The Evolution of Negasonic
Revived in the comics with a redesign that mirrors her movie appearance, Negasonic Teenage Warhead was reimagined as a reality-warping mutant. Her story continued in a digital Marvel Voices Infinity Comic arc, crafted by writer Andrew Wheeler and artist Eleonora Carlini. Now, this storyline is transitioning to print in November, accompanied by a brand-new tale from the same creative team. In this upcoming one-shot, Negasonic teams up with Deadpool to take on the Time Variance Authority (TVA) “in the name of love.”
The story promises a thrilling ride as Ellie Phimister, aka Negasonic Teenage Warhead, finds herself under arrest by the TVA for a crime she has yet to commit. To prevent her future self from making a fateful choice, Now-Ellie must race against time. With only one hour on the clock, she needs to find Yuki Ohara, her future girlfriend whom she has never met, share a kiss, and save the Multiverse. Of course, Deadpool’s involvement adds a layer of chaos—because when has Deadpool ever been truly helpful?
What’s Next for Negasonic Teenage Warhead?
The release of this one-shot begs the question: is this just a way to wrap up Negasonic’s story, or could it signal more adventures on the horizon for the fan-favorite character? With her growing popularity, there’s certainly potential for further exploration. Perhaps someone at D23 might want to dig deeper into what the future holds for Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Keep an eye out for NEGASONIC TEENAGE WARHEAD #1, written by Andrew Wheeler, with art by Carola Borelli and Eleonora Carlini, and a cover by Paco Medina. The variant cover by Audrey Mok adds even more flair to this exciting release. Mark your calendars—the comic goes on sale November 6.
