The Goss at SDCC 2024

Flashback to San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (SDCC 2024). Here, our beloved stars, minus Seth MacFarlane, revealed some interesting tidbits. Shared by actors including Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, and Rachael MacFarlane, as well as executive producers, we got a taste of what’s in store for American Dad’s return.

The Big Reveal

Hold onto your seats, because TBS has declared the series return. Tune in Monday, October 28 at 10 pm ET/PT. What can fans anticipate? A mix of delight and horror as the Smiths’ dreams of scaling Mount Everest devolve into a terrifying ordeal. Add to that Roger facing an enigmatic sickness and Klaus battling an imposter.

Guest Star Galore

The guest star roster looks incredible. Keep an ear out for Charles Barkley’s inimitable baritone. Similarly, Michael Imperioli and Joel McHale are sure to leave an impression. Adding to the star-studded voice cast are Leslie Jones, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Neal McDonough, and Hollywood’s power couple, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Sneak Peek into Storylines

The glimpses and previews released so far hint at compelling storylines. One entails Roger and Stan, the animated alter egos of Seth MacFarlane, resorting to a body merge following a train mishap. In contrast, another episode sees the family play-acting as doctors to save Rogu, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, from a potential terminal illness. Furthermore, winter brings a special Christmas episode, and let’s not forget the anticipated Klaus’s rap number.

A Step Back In Time

One image stands out particularly. An episode featuring “old-timey” animation, a nod to the golden era of cartoons, provides a throwback feel.

TBS’s American Dad is the brainchild of Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman, with Brian Boyle serving as co-showrunner. Furthermore, both MacFarlane and Weitzman wear the hat of executive producers.
