New Voices Stir Up Excitement for Blue Miburo’s Anime Adaptation

The hype around Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s Blue Miburo anime intensifies with fresh announcements. Fans are buzzing about five new voice actors joining the lineup for part two. This eagerly anticipated installment takes off with episode 17, set to premiere on February 8. Alongside these announcements, a dynamic new visual hints at upcoming epic battles.

Meet the New Cast

Adding fresh energy to the franchise, Ryōhei Kimura steps into the role of Yaksha. Joining him are Yoshiki Nakajima as Sendō and Yoku Shioya as Ryōken. Meanwhile, Masashi Yamane voices Hanabishi, and Daisuke Hirakawa portrays Anegakōji Kintomo. Their character names still await official romanization, adding a layer of mystery.

The anime resumed its exhilarating journey on January 11. The first part concluded on January 4, setting the stage for more thrilling episodes. Since its premiere on October 19, the series has captivated audiences every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Japan. For international fans, it airs at 3:30 a.m. EST on YTV, NTV, and affiliated channels. The series runs in two dynamic parts, streaming synchronously on Crunchyroll.

A Sonic Revolution

In the second half, Umeda Cypher’s music elevates the experience with their new opening song ‘OOKAMI,’ produced by banvox. The compelling narrative continues to spotlight Nio, brought to life by Shūichirō Umeda. Yōhei Azakami lends his voice to the stoic Hijikata Toshizō, while Kenshō Ono embodies the spirited Okita Sōji.

Fans will also recognize returning talents: Chiaki Kobayashi as Saitō Hajime and Shun Horie as Tanaka Tarō. Ryōta Takeuchi voices Serizawa Kamo, with Tomokazu Sugita as Kondō Isami. Megumi Ogata enriches the series as Kikuchiyo.

Additionally, previously introduced actors enhance this thrilling arc. Mamoru Miyano voices the enigmatic Kyōhachi Yōtarō, while Chika Anzai portrays Nagi. Rie Takahashi captivates as Sakura, and Kujira brings Hebi to life. The anime, animated by Maho Film, is masterfully directed by Kumiko Habara. Scriptwriting is overseen by Kenta Ihara, with Yūko Ōba and Miyako Nishida designing the characters. Yuki Hayashi composes the gripping score, supported by sound director Toshiki Kameyama.

Blue Miburo, known as The Blue Wolves of Mibu in English, draws its roots from Yasuda’s manga. Licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing, this tale of ambition and camaraderie strikes a chord. It trails Nio, an orphan determined to leave a mark on the world. He finds purpose among the valiant Shinsengumi, warriors fueled by ideals and the thirst for justice. Since its debut in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2021, readers have eagerly followed its growth, with the 14th volume released in July.
