Report: New Joker Series Starring Barry Keoghan

In the wake of The Penguin’s massive success on Max, whispers are circulating about Barry Keoghan stepping into the Joker’s shoes for his own series. Set in Matt Reeves’ ever-expanding The Batman universe, this rumor is sparking intrigue. Keoghan had a fleeting moment in the limelight during the first Batman flick. Yet, his presence hasn’t been solidified for The Batman Part II. But fret not, his character’s development could see a major upswing after the sequel’s release.

Joker Series with Barry Keoghan in the Works?

Though the villain for The Batman Part II remains a mystery, it’s probably not Keoghan’s Joker. Instead, Gotham’s Clown Prince might rise as the central nemesis for Robert Pattinson in The Batman Part III. Entering scenes via Derek Faraci’s Marvelvision podcast, whispers suggest Keoghan will debut in his own Joker-centric series. This show would serve as a narrative bridge akin to The Penguin, which linked The Batman to its upcoming sequel. Keoghan’s portrayal of Joker is poised to connect The Batman Part II with its follow-up, Part III.

Naturally, such reports need a healthy dose of skepticism. However, The InSneider and Slash Film have also lent their A-list credibility to the possibility. These whispers gain traction as Reeves continues expanding The Batman Epic Crime Saga on Max. A standalone series for Keoghan’s Joker seems strategically sound, allowing Reeves to slowly sculpt the iconic villain’s arc leading into The Batman Part III.

Before reality fully bites, there’s buzz about Keoghan possibly making a brief cameo in The Batman Part II. He coyly sidestepped definitive answers, though, when quizzed about a sequel presence. “I can’t say much,” Keoghan teased. “The camera is looking right at me. We’ll see where that goes.” He left the door wide open to fan speculation while maintaining a level of intrigue.

The anticipation continues to build as production gears up for Matt Reeves’ sequel, slated to begin in 2025. Fans can mark their calendars for October 2, 2026, as the potential release date when the caped crusader graces theaters again.
