Season 2 Recording of Batman: Caped Crusader Appears to Begin
Hitting the Mic Again: Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 Recording Underway?
Well, Batman fans can unfold their capes and work on that raspy-voiced “I’m Batman” again. How come? It seems “Batman: Caped Crusader” star, Michelle C. Bonilla — our beloved Det. Renee Montoya, might have just hinted that the recording sessions for season two are underway.
Let’s not try to hide our starry-eyed excitement here — we’d all be darned gibbons not to!
A Glimpse of the Dynamic Duo: Bonilla and a Script
This little nugget of insider info came courtesy of an Instagram post. Bonilla shared a tantalizing shot of a script cover, and themselves in action. Not the kind of action you’d expect from a Gotham crime fighter, but the vocally animated kind professional voice actors bring to life. Brilliantly topical, no?
Talk about the perfect way to confirm suspicions. If they haven’t been getting their superhero voice on for an upcoming season, we’re being led on quite the wild bat-chase.
And Bonilla didn’t just silently post pictures, oh no. “The moment I get a script I can’t WAIT to crack into it!” The virtuoso detective herself captioned, expressing her admiration for the behind-the-scenes geniuses spinning this web of gritty tales.
“Montoya – on the scene. See you in the grit.” She concluded. If that’s not a call to action, our bat-signal is broken.
Welcome Back to the Grim Streets of Gotham
For those who need a recap, our animated bat-led tale is set in Gotham City — no, not the holiday destination. This place is crawling with hairy-chested criminals, with chaos being a mere slip into a vat of chemicals away.
It’s where the rich guy turned vigilante, Bruce Wayne, decides to play dress-up at night, adopting a bat motif. But being a solo superhero striving for justice in a city that prefers its room dark and filled with terror, isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Caped Crusaders and Not-So-Heroic Reactions
Bruce’s actions, though noble, certainly don’t go unnoted. And not just by his trusted allies within the GCPD and City Hall. The hornets are out of the nest, and acquiring a taste for bat, it seems!
From Midnight Mass to Gotham Massacre
Our star-stuffed cast includes Hamish Linklater as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Jamie Chung’s Harley Quinn, and Christina Ricci’s Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Not to forget Diedrich Bader’s disrespectful take on Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
Also lending their vocal prowess are Minnie Driver, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, McKenna Grace, and Jason Watkins among others.
This animated series, based on characters from DC, is a brainchild of Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions, and 6th & Idaho. Rodríguez, we’re hopeful, would guide our beloved caped crusader in his fight against Gotham’s wrongdoers in the upcoming season.
Stay tuned for more updates. But yeah, don’t play hero while you wait, okay? We’ve got enough bat-people already.
