Is Lester the Secret Killer in Only Murders In The Building Season 4?
By August Tales
Hulu and Disney+’s “Only Murders in the Building” is once again stealing the spotlight with its captivating fourth season. This year’s storyline delves deep into a personal crime: the murder of Sazz Pataki. Played by Jane Lynch, Sazz was an old friend of Charles-Haden Savage and his longtime stunt double. After revealing she had a secret to unburden in the earlier season’s closing sequence, Sazz was brutally killed in Charles’s apartment.
Getting a Handle on Whodunit
The identity of Season 4’s remorseless killer may have been under our noses from the start. Skilled fans have pored over each installment of the series, subtly piecing together possible hints from Season 3. Their discussions center on Oliver’s musical opus, “Death Razzle Dazzle,” which they believe discloses not just the identity of Sazz’s murderer but also indicates a series of calculated killings.
Season 3 Holds the Key
One fan theory argues that Season 3’s eerie musical could be shimmying steps ahead—the entire performance possibly a set-up for Season 4’s crime. The theory suggests parallels between the musical’s cast and the show’s characters. The Mulligan Triplets match Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, with Detective Donna Williams seen as the protective Nanny character from the play. Now, the burning question is: who is “Only Murders in the Building’s” real detective, the hidden murderer, in “Death Razzle Dazzle”?
Hints of a Major Conspiracy
The unraveling fan theory might point at Lester, the inconspicuous doorman of the Arconia, as the actual 6th Avenue Slasher. Lester holds potential as the killer, nestled in the shadows. Yet, would he be capable of such savagery? After all, Charles resembles Lester, which could have led Sazz to uncover naughty truths about her long-time friend’s doppelganger.
Could Lester be the Serial Killer?
Is Lester truly a malevolent criminal mastermind? This conjecture isn’t entirely far-fetched. Lester has unfettered access to the building’s nooks and crannies, making it plausible for him to conceal his ghastly deeds and discard evidence. Furthermore, Lester’s own shared ambition of wanting to be a Broadway star and struggling past could be convenient background noise for his homicidal tendencies.
However, it may be too early in the season to pinpoint shadowy Lester as Sazz’s killer. Till then, revisiting Season 3’s “Death Razzle Dazzle” for overlooked clues might key us into the identity of Season 4’s mysterious culprit.
