Spawn and Savage Dragon Unite with Blacula in New Killadelphia
Image Comics has released a preview of Killadelphia #35 as the horror comic series gears up for a jaw-dropping showdown. This issue marks the penultimate installment of the six-part “Death Be Not Proud” arc.
A Star-Studded Horror Lineup
Killadelphia, written by Rodney Barnes with art by Jason Shawn Alexander, brings together a powerhouse cast. The new issue features Spawn, Savage Dragon, and the cursed Blacula. These iconic characters converge as the story builds toward an epic conclusion in issue #36.
Recent interior previews reveal Savage Dragon holding someone at gunpoint while demonic figures feast on their victims in another gruesome scene. The issue also includes a backup story starring Johnny Gatlin and will be available in a Noir Edition, showcasing black-and-white line art interiors. Killadelphia #35 hits shelves on August 28.
No Red Band Required
In addition to Killadelphia #35’s cover art and interior pages, Image Comics released a promotional graphic highlighting the series’ return. The upcoming issue promises no red band requirement but is still tailored for horror-loving audiences. Issue #35 marks the series’ comeback after a six-month hiatus, with issue #34 released back in February.
Spawn’s Grand Entrance
Killadelphia’s “Death Be Not Proud” arc began with issue #31, introducing Spawn into the series as Heaven and Hell clash in Philadelphia. This crossover with Todd McFarlane’s popular character served as a new entry point for readers. As the arc progressed, Spawn transformed into a bloodthirsty vampire, and Savage Dragon joined the fray, battling undead presidents, werewolves, and even Lucifer.
A Legacy of Horror
Killadelphia #1 launched this Eisner Award-nominated series in 2019. The story follows a small-town beat cop returning home to bury his murdered father, only to uncover a mystery that leads him through a path of horrors. As Image Comics describes, “The city that was once the symbol of liberty and freedom has fallen prey to corruption, poverty, unemployment, brutality… and vampires. Welcome to Killadelphia.”
Killadelphia #35 is available on August 28 from Image Comics.
