Tiny Onion Teams Up with Inklore for New Series
Written by August Tales
Revealed earlier today, searing comic book writer James Tynion IV’s Tiny Onion Substack inked a vibrant new twelve-book deal with Inklore. Composed of three captivating original graphic novel series, the partnership kicks off with Inklore, an imprint at The Random House Publishing Group. Inklore is a branch of Random House Worlds, a division of Penguin Random House. Penguin, an established industry trendsetter, strengthened its comic book presence by swallowing BOOM! Studios earlier this year.
A Major Acquisition
Offering solid confirmation of the deal, Rebecca Taylor, Inklore’s Editorial Director, and Kate McHale, Senior Commissioning Editor at Inklore UK, managed the acquisition of the world rights. Taylor couldn’t conceal her excitement about the partnership with Tynion and Tiny Onion.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join forces with James and the Tiny Onion brigade,” said Taylor, with palpable anticipation. Tynion’s character-driven stories, regardless of genre, had her eager for Inklore’s fans to dive into the emotional roller coaster the series promises.
Initial Meeting
Admitting he connected with Taylor during the NYCC about a year ago, Tynion said their collaboration was already budding back then. His following meeting with Taylor and the group behind Random House Worlds was equally pleasant. “I asked how bold I could be in proposing what we’d create together. They encouraged me to push limits,” reminisced Tynion.
Triple Series Is No Small Feat
Bold he was, proposing not one, but three story series he’d been nurturing for an extended period. Tynion voiced expectations about the partnership. He assured fans that the forthcoming books are earmarked to be favorites. According to Tynion, these graphic novels are set to strike a resonant chord with readers, showcasing high-soap opera levels of emotional tones. Each piece is a testament to Tynion’s unique storytelling approach.
What’s In Store for ‘The Most Beautiful People Who Never Loved Me’?
The initial series in the deal, ‘The Most Beautiful People Who Never Loved Me,’ traces the journey of a magician. The protagonist navigates the professional success attained through his ground-breaking shows, but it comes at a steep personal price. The first volume of the series aims for a release in 2028.
Fans of Tynion will have to sit tight, though. Tynion insists it’ll be a while longer before more information on the much-awaited graphic novel surfaces. Expect exclusive teasers for this emotionally charged series as the release date inches closer.
