From Villain to Vigilante: The Dual Identity of Two-Face Takes Center Stage
He’s played the hero and the villain, with a character as paradoxical as they come. Despite his longevity, only now is he getting his first solo representation in comic form. This December, Harvey Dent, better known as Two-Face, steps into the spotlight in DC Comics’ new devoted miniseries. Christian Ward will create the narrative, with Fábio Veras providing the artwork. Complementing this duo are colorist Ivan Plascencia and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

Two-Face: A Dark Reflection of Bruce Wayne
In Batman’s rogue gallery, Dent is a close second to the Joker. He is a sinister reflection of what Bruce Wayne could become—a crusader tumbling into the shadows. But Two-Face isn’t a mere duplicate of Wayne. His unpredictability eclipses even the Joker’s, dictated by a flipped coin. Yet he remains a noble menace, loyal to his word once given.

Balancing the Scales: Harvey Dent’s Dichotomy
“I’m thrilled to be writing Two-Face’s first solo series,” says an enthusiastic Ward. “Our series sees Harvey using his criminology expertise to navigate Gotham’s perilous criminal underworld. Alongside this, he has his eye on returning to society, perhaps even reconciling with his old friend, Bruce Wayne.”

The series kicks off with a seemingly stable yet scarred Harvey resurfacing as a public defender. He seemingly achieves a balance between his two personas, living and functioning within the same body. But while the virtuous Dent is eager to rebuild his life, his evil half is vying for total control.

The Struggle Within: Two-Face Unhinged
In Two-Face #1, Harvey defends Gotham’s most infamous criminals. His first client? Notorious serial killer Victor Zsasz. But there could be more to the case than meets the eye. The murderous Zsasz might not be the culprit this time. And who better to prove his innocence than a man who has stood on both sides of the law?

Keep an eye out for Two-Face #1, hitting comic shops everywhere on December 4, 2024.
