Gambit Faces Thanos in Fan-Created Video
By August Tales
The X-Men universe long yearned for Channing Tatum to bring Gambit to life on the silver screen. During the X-Men’s Fox era, Tatum was set to wield Gambit’s iconic cards. However, Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019 put an end to those dreams. Yet, the fantasy became reality as Tatum finally donned the Gambit mantle in Deadpool & Wolverine. Now, fans eagerly ponder Gambit’s future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Gambit Takes on Thanos in a Fan Creation
Recently, a creative fan has reimagined an iconic Marvel battle. A video showcases Gambit fighting Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. ActiveSufi, a YouTuber, created this entertaining take on a pivotal scene from Avengers 4. In this version, Gambit battles alongside Captain America, played by Chris Evans, and the ensemble squad.
The video, a hit since its upload, cleverly edits scenes from Deadpool & Wolverine. It places Gambit at the heart of the Endgame climax. Through Doctor Strange’s portals, Tatum’s charismatic figure suddenly appears. This unexpected entrance replaces the original Avengers lineup, offering a fresh twist.
Gambit’s Explosive Moves in the Fan Edit
Gambit, quick-witted and daring, joins the fray with memorable one-liners. Early in the battle, he strikes Ebony Maw and targets Thanos’ forces. His swift throw eventually beheads Thanos, ending the epic showdown in style. The video closes with an altered clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tatum’s Gambit responds humorously to a joke by James Rhodes.
Possible MCU Future for Tatum’s Gambit
While many cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine nod to Marvel’s legacy, Tatum’s Gambit seems to have more on the horizon. A deleted scene from Deadpool 3 hints at Gambit surviving the chaotic events of the film. Given Marvel’s current multiverse arc, Gambit could reappear in upcoming projects. However, Marvel executives have yet to officially confirm any plans for his MCU fate. Transitioning Gambit into future storylines could offer fans tantalizing possibilities. Nevertheless, speculation remains until Marvel breaks its silence.
